At the Connemara Natural
Park there is a chance to explore the unique landscape and learn
about the history of the fascinating boglands.
Visitors can stoll around
the bogland and beside the beautiful Lough Sindile on safe paths
and picnic in beautiful surroundings.
At the park it is possible
to learn about turf cutting a timeless tradition that is unique
to Ireland.
You will be able to see
many rare plants and animals that thrive in this very special environment
and marvel at trees bent by years of the harsh winds that blow across
Connemara.
Also at the site is a
well preserved lime kiln evidence of a large pre-famine population
at Maam Cross.
